Registration procedure

If you want to work as a medical professional with a European diploma in the Netherlands or Belgium, you have to fulfil several conditions. These include mastering the Dutch language, obtaining legal permits and completing official registrations. Care Force helps you go through this process efficiently and carefully.
For your BIG (Netherlands) or RIZIV registration (Belgium), you need at least the following documents:

  • European passport/ID card or a long-term/permanent work permit
  • Copy of your European diploma + official recognition
  • Europass CV
  • Letter of Good Standing
  • Letter of Good Conduct
  • Language certificate (required level B2+ if you want to work in the Netherlands)
  • Additional documents may be required depending on your situation.

To work as a medical professional in the Netherlands or Belgium, specific registrations are required:

  • BIG registration (Netherlands): Automatic registration is possible for recent EU diplomas. For older diplomas or different courses, a "Working Experience Statement" is required, demonstrating a minimum of three years of work experience or 2080 working hours in the past five years.
  • NIHDI registration (Belgium): Requires documents such as proof of qualifications, identity and language skills. Once approved, you will receive a registration number, necessary to work as a healthcare provider in Belgium.
  • Care Force will support you in collecting and submitting all necessary documents for these registrations.

Application procedure

The course starts with filling in our registration form. We then schedule an intake interview to discuss your interests and qualifications. In case of mutual interest, an interview with an account manager will follow, during which we will present your profile to potential employers.

After successful interviews, we guide you in contract negotiations and you start the Dutch language course. When you obtain your A1 certificate, you will move to the Netherlands for intensive language training. Once you have the required language level and all documents are arranged, you will start your new medical career.

More than just work

We understand that moving to another country means more than just a new job. That is why we offer:

  • Assistance in finding accommodation
  • Assistance in finding a school and childcare for candidates with families
  • Assistance in learning Dutch to the required level in 6 months, with support from a host family during the language course
  • Assistance in opening a bank account and arranging insurance
  • Information on tax benefits, such as the 30% ruling in the Netherlands

For candidates moving to Belgium, we also offer:

  • Homologation of diplomas and assistance with registration with the Order of your Profession
  • Assistance in organising matters around self-employed status, including tax and legal issues

Care Force Language Academy

Since 2017, a language certificate has been mandatory for BIG registration in the Netherlands. Our Language Academy offers two programmes:

  • Fully online programme: one year on average. Interested parties will receive additional information on request.
  • Physical programme (26 weeks):
    • Track 1 (A0-A2): 10 weeks online
    • Week 11: time to travel to the Netherlands
    • Pathway 2 (A2-B1): 7 weeks physical in the Netherlands
    • Week 19: intermediate week
    • Pathway 3 (B1-B2+): 6 weeks physical + training
    • Week 26: exam week

Our language school is recognised by BIG and is therefore allowed to conduct its own exams. During the physical course, we offer accommodation in host families, Care Force flats or holiday park lodges. We recommend taking the course without family members or pets, given the intensity.
