The education system

The education system in the Netherlands is divided into several stages:

Secondary Education:  After completing primary education, students move on to secondary education, which is divided into several tracks. These tracks include:

HAVO (Senior General Secondary Education): A more theoretical program that prepares students for higher professional education (HBO) or university.

VWO (Pre-University Education): A highly academic program that prepares students for university education.
